Kayin BGF, Myinegyingu Special Region families donate cash for storm victims of Rakhine State

The Kayin State Border Guard Force (BGF) and Myinegyingu Special Region families made cash donations for storm victims of Rakhine State under the auspices of Second-Myinegyingu Sayadaw Bhaddanta Nyanika dedicating to Mula Myinegyingu Sayadaw at Rakhine State Government Office yesterday.
The donation ceremony was attended by Second-Myinegyingu Sayadaw Maha Mingala Dhamma Jotikadhaja Bhaddanta Nyanika, Aungsay Sayadaw Maha Saddhamma Jotikadhaja Ashin Pavarasiddhi, State Administration Council Member Deputy Prime Minister Union Minister for Transport and Communications Admiral Tin Aung San, Union Minister for Border Affairs Lt-Gen Tun Tun Naung, Rakhine State Chief Minister U Htein Lin, Lt-Gen Phone Myat of the Office of Commander-in-Chief (Army), Western Command Commander Maj-Gen Htin Latt Oo, deputy ministers, governmental officials, Kayin BGF and Myinegyingu Special Region families.
At the event, officials donated K150 million on behalf of Kayin BGF and Myinegyingu Special Region families and the state chief minister and the Western Command commander gave certificate of honour in return.
Then, the Deputy Prime Minister, Lt-Gen Tun Tun Naung and the state chief minister donated cash to Sayadaws.
The Deputy Prime Minister and Lt-Gen Tun Tun Naung received the team led by acting Coordinator of UNRCD at Rakhine State Government office.
They discussed the cooperation work in assistance of UN regarding the Cyclone Mocha.
At noon, the Deputy Prime Minister, Lt-Gen Tun Tun Naung, State Chief Minister U Htein Lin and Lt-Gen Phone Myat attended the coordination meeting on rehabilitation processes.
During the meeting, the Deputy Prime Minister made proper instructions and concluded the meeting.
There are 4,876 outpatients and 9,016 inpatients at the general hospitals in respective townships of Rakhine State to date after Cyclone Mocha. The hospitals provided healthcare services to 13,892 patients at outpatient department, added water purification tablets for 2,123 times and conducted 1,694 health awareness campaigns.
Moreover, the RRTs and special medical teams offered health services and a total of 3,205 patients – 58 in Thetkepyin, 556 in Minbya, 473 in Kyauktaw, 275 in Ponnagyun, 272 in Pauktaw, 848 in Manaung, 190 in Buthidaung and 533 in Maungtaw townships — received medical treatment.
The deputy minister of the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Culture donated 8,525 CI sheets and 225 visses of roofing nails allotted by Rakhine State disaster management committee to the destroyed monasteries and nunneries in Sittway Township on 25 May, and 51 tonnes of sawn timber to 72 monasteries yesterday.
The charging points are designated at near bus terminal, Meesetkyi roundabout, airport junction, in front of Lawkananda pagoda, in front of the state government office, cultural museum, Biluma bridge and in front of township revenue office for the people to charge phones, electric bulbs and batteries. — MNA/KTZH
