Myanmar migrant workers who will work in Thailand are seen at Covid test centre.

The Union Labour Minister stated that agencies are fully responsible for overseas workers from departure until their return.
He made this statement during a meeting with the executive members of the Myanmar Overseas Employment Agencies Federation (MOEAF) on 16 November.
As foreign employment agencies, they face challenges regarding the workers they send to workplaces in their respective countries. The Union minister emphasized the importance of addressing labour matters related to workplace injuries and fatalities promptly. In case of any issues, it is necessary to report them to the relevant departments and coordinate with labour attaches in due course.
He encouraged them to assume full responsibility for the process of sending workers in the foreign employment benefit business, showing interest and ensuring effective implementation.
As of 31 October this year, there were 487 licensed overseas employment agencies and 147 licensed agencies in Thailand, according to the Ministry of Labour. — TWA/KZW
