4.42 mln stimulant tablets worth K6.63 bln seized in Kachin State, Mandalay Region

A total of 4.42 million stimulant tablets worth K6.63 billion were confiscated in Mohnyin Township, Kachin State and Thazi Township, Mandalay Region, according to the Myanmar Police Force.
Acting on a tip-off, a combined team comprising of Anti-Drugs Squad members investigated a Foton six-wheel vehicle driven by Aung Swe Oo accompanied by Min Min Than from Mandalay to Mohnyin at the Nangsiaung joint checkpoint in Mohnyin Township of Kachin State on 9 August and confiscated 2 million stimulant tablets worth K3 billion hidden in corn bags on the vehicle. After the investigation, the seized stimulant tablets were carried from Mandalay Region to Kachin State.
Similarly, a combined team including members of the Anti-Drug Squad found three suspicious motorcycles loaded with 13 polypropylene (PP) bags, which stopped near a creek in a village of Thazi Township in the Mandalay Region.
The police checked polypropylene (PP) bags and seized 2.42 million stimulant tablets worth K3.63 billion. The police have taken legal action against the suspects, and an investigation is underway to identify the perpetrators of the crime chain. — MNA
