The 76th Anniversary of Independence Day 2024 will be observed in accord with five national objectives including the point to strive for holding a free and fair election under the law and for enabling the people from all parts of the nation to cast votes.
To so do, the first coordination meeting of the 76th Anniversary of Independence Day Organizing Central Committee took place at the office of the State Administration Council Chairman in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday afternoon with an address by Chairman of the Central Committee SAC Vice-Chairman Deputy Prime Minister Vice-Senior General Soe Win.
The Vice-Senior General confirmed that the commemorative day will be marked in line with the five national objectives: to maintain Our Three Main National Causes — non-disintegration of the Union, non-disintegration of national solidarity and perpetuation of sovereignty — dubbed as the national interests and national politics, to enhance the comprehensive education sector which can turn out well-versed human resources in building the Union based on modern, developed democratic system and federalism, to make efforts for holding a free and fair election under the law and for enabling entire people from all parts of the nation to cast votes, to make collaborative efforts for ceasing all terrorists, forging peace and stability and ensuring firmness for the multiparty democratic system, to encourage MSME businesses based on agriculture and livestock farms.
He continued that this year’s Independence Day celebration will regularly take place with a flag-hoisting ceremony in the morning, handing honorary titles in the afternoon and hosting a dinner in the evening. Despite marking the Independence Day ceremony as usual, as it is a national-level ceremony, all need to cooperate with each other in organizing the ceremony, he added.
