Chairman of Nay Pyi Taw Council Dr. Myo Aung, members Colonel Min Naung and U Aye Maung Sein and officials from the Roads and Bridges Department conducted an inspection tour of Lewe Township, looking into bridges that were destroyed by torrential rains yesterday.
The chairman and party inspected an inter-village wooden bridge in Thapyaygyone village-tract and the Yenilay-Boekoelone wooden bridge that were sent adrift by strong currents, and relocation of the local people, which was necessary following the collapse of a river bank which is a part of the Sittoung River, experiening rising water levels. Members of the council also inspected the erosion of the Yonebin creek. Finally, measures to possibly implement some kind of water retention system were discussed with officials from the respective departments.
